Here at Nelipots, we source an alloy based metal and use high quality plating. This means the finish can potentially leave behind a surface mark on the skin when worn. This coloration easily washes off with warm water and a mild soap.

If you do see a slight blackening in your piece it is nothing to be alarmed about and the jewelry can easily be brought right back to it's shining self with a jewelry polishing cloth. With that said, fashion jewelry can experience normal wear and tear like this over time. To extend the life of your jewelry, please give them occasional breaks and to keep them away from any moisture and creams. Any side effect caused by the natural properties found in our jewelry is temporary, unavoidable and not valid for a refund.

Please follow these tips to maintain the quality and prevent early tarnish:

  • Keep them in your NELIPOTS dust bag when not in use
  • Avoid sweat
  • Wipe with soft cloth
  • Do not sleep in your jewelry
  • Avoid chemicals (especially hand cream)
  • Avoid bathing, showering with jewelry on. Chlorine especially at high temperatures can permanently damage or discolor your jewelry.
  • Avoid exposing metals to wet sand or water.
Salt will cause the metals to erode quickly, if you get your jewelry wet, rinse them under fresh water and towel dry immediately
  • Wait for cream to dry before putting on any jewelry
  • Apply a layer of polymer coating/clear nail varnish on the inside of your jewelry

How to avoid the Green Marks:

IMPORTANT: Traces of copper will be found in Gold/Rose Gold plating as this contributes to the coloring of the metal. In some extreme cases of sensitive, highly acidic skin, you may experience some oxidization (slight greening). The other main cause of oxidization is chemicals found in hand creams. This is in fact a common trait in even the finest of jewelry.

If you are allergic or sensitive to metals or have had green tainting before then you are likely to experience the same reaction.

We take no responsibility or liability for any reactions that may take place; It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all precautions are taken as we are unable to know each individual's allergies and sensitivities.
